Family activities by heat, rules, and effort

Age is only the first filter. Check measured height, sensory load, weather exposure, food, restrooms, the exact entrance, and the exit plan.

Center StripFlexible indoor / outdoor

Bellagio Fountains and Conservatory

Useful for: Two flexible, no-base-ticket Strip sights that can be combined with a nearby meal or show.

Cost type
Free base admission
Age / height
No attraction-wide height minimum; normal resort supervision and property rules apply.
Heat plan
The fountains are outdoors and weather-dependent; the Conservatory is indoors but can be crowded. Use the cooler window and keep the plan compact.
Logistics and limitations

Check the current fountain schedule, weather cancellation note, Conservatory installation and dark dates, parking or drop-off, and the indoor walking route.

The fountain schedule, weather operation, seasonal installation, dark dates, crowding, and resort access change. The surrounding resort includes a casino environment.

The Adventuredome

Useful for: An indoor amusement-park block with ride intensity and eligibility varying widely by attraction.

Cost type
Paid admission
Age / height
Ride eligibility is attraction-specific. Measure every child and compare the result with the current official ride chart before buying an all-day product.
Heat plan
The park is indoors; the travel from garage, rideshare, or hotel room and any queue or closure still need checking.
Logistics and limitations

Build a list of rides each child can and wants to use, compare single-ride and pass terms if offered, then verify operating rides, hours, sensory intensity, accessibility, and adult-companion rules.

Rides, prices, operating schedules, closures, height rules, wristband terms, and queue conditions change. Entry does not guarantee eligibility for a particular ride.

Museum of Illusions Las Vegas

Useful for: An indoor, photo-oriented collection of optical-illusion rooms and interactive installations.

Cost type
Paid admission
Age / height
No universal height rule is published for general entry; assess younger children's comfort with distorted perspective, enclosed rooms, and balance-challenging visuals.
Heat plan
Indoors, but map the correct CityCenter entrance and minimize the outdoor Strip approach.
Logistics and limitations

Verify timed-entry inventory, current prices, stroller and accessibility details, sensory considerations, photography rules, parking, and the exact suite entrance.

Exhibits, prices, hours, ticket terms, and accessibility details change; visual effects may not suit every visitor.

Useful for: A timed indoor aquarium visit that can anchor a South Strip half-day.

Cost type
Paid admission
Age / height
The aquarium has ticket-age and adult-accompaniment rules; optional add-ons may have separate age, height, health, or equipment requirements.
Heat plan
The exhibit is indoors, but Mandalay Bay is a large resort. Map the garage, rideshare, or pedestrian entrance and the full indoor walk.
Logistics and limitations

Price the exact date and time, verify what the base ticket includes, and check stroller, sensory, accessibility, re-entry, and late-arrival rules.

Ticket prices, timed-entry inventory, add-ons, age rules, animal exhibits, and access routes change.

Useful for: An arcade stop with an optional outdoor coaster for riders who meet the current eligibility rules.

Cost type
Free entry / pay as used
Age / height
Coaster height, restraint, health, and supervision rules are attraction-specific; measure riders and read the current operator requirements before buying.
Heat plan
The arcade is indoors while the coaster travels outdoors. Weather or operations can affect the ride even when the resort and arcade remain open.
Logistics and limitations

Separate the free-to-enter arcade budget from coaster tickets, verify ride eligibility and operation, and map the route through New York-New York.

Ride operation, pricing, game inventory, payment cards, hours, and restrictions change. Arcade entry does not imply free play or coaster eligibility.

FlyOver Las Vegas

Useful for: A short motion-simulator experience that works only when every intended rider meets the current requirements and tolerates the format.

Cost type

Age / height
The operator currently requires riders to be at least 40 inches tall; other health, mobility, restraint, and adult-accompaniment restrictions also apply.
Heat plan
Indoors, but confirm the exact Strip entrance and walking route.
Logistics and limitations

Measure before purchase, read the motion/health warnings, verify arrival time and ticket terms, and have a plan for anyone who cannot or does not want to ride.

Experiences, prices, restrictions, hours, and ticket terms change. The motion format may not suit every rider even when the height rule is met.

High Roller Observation Wheel

Useful for: A contained observation-wheel ride with an enclosed cabin and a clear start-to-finish commitment.

Cost type
Paid admission
Age / height
The operator's current terms say children 3 and under ride free with a paying parent or guardian and children 12 and under require adult supervision; current ticket and cabin terms control.
Heat plan
Cabins are enclosed, but the Promenade approach and queue can include outdoor exposure. Map the entrance and avoid turning the walk to the wheel into the hard part.
Logistics and limitations

Check current hours, ticket window, shared-versus-private cabin terms, weather operation, accessibility, stroller handling, and the route from parking or rideshare.

Hours, prices, cabin operation, weather closures, events, and age or ticket terms change. Enclosed does not mean suitable for every guest with height or motion concerns.

Madame Tussauds Las Vegas

Useful for: A self-paced indoor photo stop with wax figures and optional interactive add-ons.

Cost type

Age / height
The operator says guests must be 18 or older to visit without a parent or guardian; children age 2 and older currently need a ticket, and some add-ons carry separate intensity or height rules.
Heat plan
Indoors; the important step is locating the attraction within the Venetian campus.
Logistics and limitations

Check current ticket tiers, included versus add-on experiences, age rules, stroller access, sensory intensity, bags, parking, and the correct resort entrance.

Figures, add-ons, prices, ticket ages, hours, and rules change. Some movie or bar-themed content may need a parent suitability check.

Heat plan
Use the visitor center as the anchor and keep outdoor time short in heat.

Pass math, not pass faith

Compare the itinerary before buying the pass

These two Las Vegas passes publish enough official information for a useful side-by-side check. Neither is automatically a bargain.

Go City Las Vegas

How it is sold
Choice-based Essentials or Explorer products and a duration-based All-Inclusive product; inclusions differ by pass.
Price when checked
When checked on August 5, 2026, the official Las Vegas page displayed Essentials from $79, Explorer from $99, and All-Inclusive from $169, with a child category of ages 3–12. Those are dated starting prices, not a quote for a particular traveler or date.
What the pass includes
Essentials covers three choices from its curated list; Explorer sells a selected number of attraction choices; All-Inclusive sells consecutive calendar days across its eligible roster. Each pass is for one person, and the exact inclusion page for that product, not the general ‘40+ attractions’ headline, controls.
Activation and expiry
Current terms say a pass can be activated within 12 months of purchase. Essentials and Explorer expire 30 consecutive calendar days after activation; All-Inclusive runs for the purchased consecutive calendar days beginning with first use, regardless of the time of day. A pre-booking can activate a pass, and an Essentials or Explorer reservation counts as one choice.
Reservations
Attraction-specific. The current official list ranges from same-day web, phone, email, or in-person steps to advance windows such as 10 or 14 days; some reservations validate the pass and some may require a card to secure the slot.
Blackouts and availability
There is no single universal availability promise. Attraction operating dates, capacity, partner rules, reservation windows, closures, and pass eligibility control; seeing a name in the roster is not proof of a usable slot.
Direct-ticket break-even check
At the displayed $79 starting price for one three-choice Essentials pass, the same traveler's three equivalent direct tickets must total more than $79, an average above $26.33, before pass-only or route costs. If $15 of real extra costs applied, the threshold would be $94, or $31.33 per choice. Those are arithmetic illustrations; replace every number with the current complete checkouts.
Is it worth it?
Compare the current direct checkout total for the exact eligible attractions and people with the pass checkout total plus reservation fees, premiums, transport, parking, and any attraction the schedule makes unusable.
Renewal, refund, and change risk

Renewal or refund: For passes purchased on or after May 1, 2026, the current goodwill terms allow cancellation within 90 days only while the pass remains unactivated and unused. Pre-booking an attraction counts as activation and removes that refund path; verify the checkout terms before purchase.

Inclusions, age bands, prices, premium-attraction rules, reservation windows, same-day booking steps, capacity, activation, cancellation, and savings terms change. A listed attraction is not proof that a useful time slot will be available.

GetOut Las Vegas

How it is sold
An annual, individual, non-transferable attraction membership marketed for the Las Vegas market, with complimentary or discounted offer details controlled in the current product and app.
Price when checked
GetOut currently lists an active Las Vegas market, but its public pages do not provide a dependable Las Vegas checkout total or complete current offer list. This guide therefore makes no price or savings claim.
What the pass includes
The membership provides complimentary or discounted offers at participating venues, not unlimited universal admission. Offer frequency can be annual, monthly, quarterly, or date-specific, and the market roster can change.
Activation and expiry
The current FAQ says membership lasts 12 months from activation. A completed individual member profile and active membership are required before redemption, and the app is the stated redemption path.
Reservations
Offer-specific. Check the live Las Vegas offer for any advance reservation, redemption window, app step, profile requirement, age treatment, or venue instruction before travel.
Blackouts and availability
Blackout dates and restrictions appear in the individual offer details in the app or market page. An offer may not be available today even if the venue remains in the broader membership.
Direct-ticket break-even check
There is no honest break-even number until the Las Vegas checkout supplies the total due for every intended individual membership. Compare that total only with direct admissions the same people would genuinely buy; GetOut's published comparison value is a market estimate, not the household's personal savings.
Is it worth it?
Open the current Las Vegas offer and count only attractions the household will actually use within each redemption window. Price the membership, required taxes or fees, travel, parking, exclusions, and duplicate memberships before comparing it with direct tickets.
Renewal, refund, and change risk

Renewal or refund: Memberships currently auto-renew unless that setting is turned off. GetOut says it sends a reminder at least 30 days before renewal and renews at the current plan available in the market; confirm the actual renewal and cancellation terms in the account and checkout.

Price, participating attractions, redemption frequency, reservation rules, blackout dates, age treatment, geography, renewals, and cancellation terms may be visible only in the current offer or app and can change.

Start with the direct-ticket total for the attractions you would buy anyway. Then add pass checkout costs, reservations, premiums, parking, transport, and unusable inclusions. “Included” is not the same as available at a useful time.

Build the day around the youngest or shortest child, the hottest hour, and one fixed anchor. Measure riders before buying, check current age, health, accompaniment, and sensory rules, and map the actual entrance. Put outdoor time early and keep one flexible stop you can drop without regret. The answer in 20 seconds

Choose one attraction every intended participant can actually use. Add one nearby flexible stop, preserve the hottest hours for indoors, and leave time for food, bathrooms, the garage, and the unplanned discussion about socks. The plan gets better when it contains fewer non-negotiable tickets.

Age is not the only filter. Height rules, motion and health warnings, adult-accompaniment rules, sensory intensity, stroller handling, nap timing, walking distance, and the exact route through a resort can matter more than the headline attraction.

  • Measure every possible rider at home in ordinary shoes; do not round up for vacation.
  • Check the current operator rule for every ride or add-on, not merely the venue's general age description.
  • Map the garage, rideshare zone, pedestrian entrance, ticket desk, restroom, and return route.
  • For heat, smoke, mobility, feeding, medication, sensory, or quiet-space needs, ask the operator about the exact route and accommodation.
  • Keep one part of the day cancellable without turning the ticket budget into a family grievance archive.

Choose by friction, not by the adjective ‘family’

Free and low-cost ideas that are still real plans

Free does not mean frictionless. The Bellagio Fountains are outdoors and weather-dependent; the Conservatory sits inside a large casino resort and has seasonal changeover dark dates. Ethel M's cactus garden is outdoors and factory production may not be active. Wetlands Park can combine a Nature Center with a short trail, but heat and trail distance need a turnaround rule. Henderson splash pads are seasonal city amenities, not guaranteed live equipment. The Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort is a low-cost short history stop, not a full-day theme park.

For a free indoor reset, choose a Las Vegas–Clark County Library District or Henderson Libraries branch in the geography you are already using. Check that branch's live hours and calendar before leaving. A children's area may be seated and flexible without being silent, and storytimes or family programs can be active, capacity-limited, or reservation-based. Card eligibility and access rules still apply to borrowing, computers, rooms, digital resources, and other card-based services.

Outdoor time belongs at the cool edge of the day

In warm conditions, move the outdoor piece to the earliest suitable window and make the indoor reservation the midday anchor. Wetlands Park, Henderson splash pads, the Ethel M cactus garden, the outdoor portions of Springs Preserve, and Red Rock Canyon all require different exposure and turnaround plans. Water features do not make dangerous heat harmless.

Red Rock Canyon is a desert outing, not a scenic playground with universal cell service. Verify the seasonal timed-entry requirement, alerts, fees, trail or road status, visitor-center operations, water, toilets, and Junior Ranger material. If conditions are wrong, cancel the outdoor part. A prepaid itinerary has never won an argument with the Mojave.

  • Check National Weather Service conditions and the land manager or city operator before leaving.
  • Set a turnaround time and minimum remaining water before starting.
  • Use sun protection, closed or surface-appropriate footwear, and clothing suited to the actual activity.
  • Never leave a child or animal in a parked vehicle, even for a quick errand.
  • Do not rely on a splash pad, drinking fountain, concession, shade structure, or cell signal without current confirmation.

Movie theaters are a practical category, not an admission of defeat

A movie can provide two predictable indoor hours when the group needs air-conditioning, a seated reset, or a plan that works near the hotel or scouting route. Compare the exact film, rating, runtime plus trailers, auditorium format, seat type, caption or sensory-friendly screening, food, parking, and refund terms. Premium screens can be useful; they can also add sound, motion, or price that the group did not request.

AMC Town Square works with a south-Strip or Town Square plan. Regal Red Rock fits a Downtown Summerlin or west-valley day. Galaxy Green Valley keeps a Henderson route in Henderson. West Wind is the different-format option: a drive-in changes movement, seating, sound, bathroom, snack, weather, arrival, and car-battery logistics.

Attraction passes: calculate value with the itinerary you will actually use

Go City currently offers three Las Vegas pass structures: three-choice Essentials, a selected-number-of-choices Explorer, and a consecutive-day All-Inclusive product. When checked on August 5, 2026, its page displayed starting prices of $79, $99, and $169 and a child category of ages 3–12. Those are dated starting prices, not a traveler quote. Current terms give Essentials and Explorer 30 consecutive days after activation, while All-Inclusive uses the purchased consecutive calendar days starting with first use. Reservations vary by attraction from same-day steps to advance windows; pre-booking can activate a pass.

GetOut currently markets an annual, individual Las Vegas membership with complimentary or discounted offers. Its current FAQ says the membership lasts 12 months from activation, is non-transferable, requires an active individual profile and app for redemption, and auto-renews unless disabled. Offer frequency, blackout dates, restrictions, and availability are offer-specific. Its public pages do not show a dependable Las Vegas checkout total or complete current offer list, so this guide does not quote a price, venue count, or savings number.

Start with a no-pass itinerary. Price the exact direct tickets for the exact people and dates. Then price the pass at checkout and add every cost or constraint the pass creates. If buying the pass causes the group to visit an attraction only to justify the pass, that attraction has a direct value of zero and a real cost in time.

Receipt, please: a pass-math example

Dated Go City price example: at the $79 starting price displayed when checked on August 5, the same traveler's three equivalent direct tickets must total more than $79 for the pass to break even before any pass-only or route cost. That is an average above $26.33 per choice. If $15 of real reservation, premium, or pass-shaped transport cost applied, the threshold would become $94, or more than $31.33 per choice. Replace the starting price and every direct ticket with the complete current checkouts before deciding.

There is no responsible GetOut break-even number without the exact Las Vegas total due for every intended individual membership. Compare that total only with the direct admissions those same people would independently buy inside the actual redemption windows. Do not substitute GetOut's comparison value: the operator describes it as a market estimate based on commonly used venues and standard admission, not a household's personal savings.

  • Go City: inspect which exact pass includes each attraction, whether it is a premium inclusion, and whether same-day, advance, phone, email, web, app, or in-person reservations are required.
  • Go City: remember that a pre-booking can activate the pass and that an Essentials or Explorer reservation counts as one choice under the current terms.
  • GetOut: inspect the current Las Vegas checkout, per-person profile needs, current offer ledger, redemption frequency, blackout dates, age treatment, renewal, and cancellation terms before doing any math.
  • Do not count the same ticket's retail value twice, and do not assign adult value to a child who is free or ineligible directly.
  • Do not build the day so tightly that one late meal or nap collapses every reservation after it.

The twelve-minute logistics check

  • Current operating date, hours, closures, timed-entry inventory, and cancellation terms.
  • Age, measured height, adult-accompaniment, health, restraint, rating, and sensory rules.
  • Full household ticket total, taxes, fees, parking, required adult admission, and add-ons.
  • Exact garage, rideshare zone, resort entrance, ticket desk, elevator, and return route.
  • Stroller, wheelchair, bag, food, bottle, locker, nursing, restroom, and quiet-space details.
  • Outdoor temperature, air quality, wind, sun exposure, shade, water, and closure notices.
  • Casino or smoking exposure along the actual route, not merely inside the attraction.
  • Food timing, allergy questions, medication, nap or rest window, and an easy exit.
  • One backup in the same geography; not another major attraction across the valley.
