Start with twelve, or narrow by area, access, full round, short course, or practice setup.

Before booking, confirm the selected date, total fee, resident eligibility, cart and rental terms, practice access, maintenance, course conditions, heat procedures, dress code, pace, and cancellation policy directly. Private-club access and nearby real estate remain separate decisions.

Start with the golfer's real goal: one visitor round, regular public play, a possible private-club relationship, or a home search near courses. Then confirm access type. Public and resort courses may offer date-specific tee times, semi-private access varies, and private clubs require direct confirmation. A golf-course view is not a membership document.

Golf access worksheet

Separate a tee time, a membership, and a home search

Public-play access, resort golf, private-club membership, and living near a course are different products. Ask the access question before falling in love with the aerial photo.

  1. 01 · Play

Confirm how a nonmember can book

Use the course's official booking or contact page for current public access, resident rules, booking window, dynamic price, cart, rental, dress, pace, aeration, and closure details.

  2. 02 · Join

Request the complete current membership terms

Ask about initiation, dues, waitlist, category, transfer, food minimum, capital assessment, guest rules, course access, and whether real-estate ownership is separate.

  3. 03 · Live

Evaluate the property without using the course as shorthand

Review the actual home, HOA, club relationship, assessments, lot exposure, golf-ball risk, privacy, maintenance, routes, and documents independently.

    Use the home-buying guide

Choose the lane before the course

The same course list cannot answer every golfer. A visitor arranging one round, a resident testing a weekly routine, a prospective club member, and a home buyer each need different proof.

Build the round from door to door

Use the directory to narrow the list, not rank it: filter first by where you will start, then by public, resort, mixed public/member, or private access, and finally by full round, short course, multi-course complex, or practice setup. For a specific date, record access, booking window, total fee and inclusions, resident eligibility, cart and rental, practice access, course conditions, overseeding closure or recovery, heat policy, and drive time from the actual home or hotel. Add check-in, practice, the round, return, and any fixed evening plan; a tee time is a start time, not the duration of the day.

  • Before booking: confirm the access category, date-specific availability, price inclusions, cancellation terms, and current course information.
  • Before leaving: confirm the entrance, check-in time, clubs or rental, cart, practice access, weather, water, and transportation.
  • After the round: leave buffer before a show, flight, dinner reservation, or cross-valley appointment.

The country-club firewall

Initiation, dues, guest rules, waitlists, reciprocal access, equity/non-equity structure, and the relationship between a home and membership are volatile and contractual. The guide uses ‘club confirmation required’ wherever direct, current terms are unavailable.

Homes near golf

Compare the drive to the courses you will actually play, HOA and assessment tolerance, lot exposure, ball-strike and noise context, maintenance boundaries, and whether the community's real-estate identity is separate from club access. Review property and club documents independently. The fairway may be outside the window; the membership can still be outside the contract.
